Recently we organized and ran the 2010 World Championships of Freestyle here are some clips of the action! 90 skaters from 10 different countries skated and competed for $5,000 in prize money from our friends at Powell Peralta in Philadelphia this past September, if you weren't there you missed all the fun! Enjoy some footage from the best Freestyle competition since the 80's if not even before then!

NEW APPROACH: Since our inception we been trying to play by the rules in respect to getting our gear out there, we did Surf Expo/ASR/Crossroads and to the shops who gave us a chance and are still working with we are incredibly grateful and want to continue working with you and offering the best deals in the industry for premium product!
As soon as our new website is completed we will be offering direct sales to skaters via our website. We will be offering specials, completes as well as keeping our prices at MSRP. standards.
For those of you already working with us this will not affect you at all as we will have you listed on our site and recommend that people from a general area frequent your shop as always!
We are focusing more on skating and doing what we do best grassroots / guerrilla marketing. We will still be working with FTK Mag, Concrete Wave and those who have supported us in the past and not wasting anymore time/energy on shops/mags/people who don't return phone calls/emails or support what we do or are about, we have come to them as professionals so when they are ready to step it up they can come to us! The kids have spoken One is hear to stay, thank you to all the skaters we met and skated with throughout the years! Looking forward to skating with all of you and meeting more of you out on the road this year.
Taking it back to basics, taking it to the streets, taking it back to the people
This was the first of a few trips we have planned this season to different parts of the country!
The crew: AJ Kohn, Greg Pachell, Shannon Sexton and new addition to the official team Mike Thomas. Mike brings a classic straight forward style to the group, is a good all around skater and has great popping ability as well as being one of the nicest guys you will meet.
This trip was a great way to start the season as we had great weather, small crew and our friend Kellie had a beach house in NC that we could crash at for as long as was needed! Good looking out Kellie much appreciated!Greg and Mike got in a lot of filming this trip as both where totally ripping it up every spot we hit. Shannon and I got in some good lines but didn't really feel like filming this trip and our new rider / longtime friend Mike was on a mission as well as Greg so we just let them do it up!
Parks hit up: Anti Gravity Newport News VA: 1st stop of the tour, really fun to skate, cool vibe and a lot of shredding went down here!Got to meet and skate with a bunch of new skaters / taught some tricks, played a few games of SKATE and sessioned with the locals who where all ripping well beyond their years. A big thanks to Bob and Randy for having us, we will definitely be back!
YMCA Outer Banks NC: If you are into a never ending bowl this spot is for you, the street course was fun but needs an update, we taught free lessons up there from 10-3 for the YMCA Healthy Kid Festival. Thanks again to everyone at the YMCA for all your hospitality!
Kill Devil Hills Skate Park NC: Right up the road from the YMCA, brand new and smooth it is considered a "Flow" park meaning a bowl with banked hips and rollers in the middle with street obstacles / interesting features along the perimeter. Definitely a fun park, the young locals didn't know what to make of us at first but once we got in a line or two the warmed right up and a great session was on!
158 Skate Shops mini Ramp: Small but a lot of fun with concrete coping on one side, metal on the other and a vert wall that goes to the ceiling. When we got there the session was heating up and everyone was throwing down on it! Good times for sure! One of the locals Forrest Davis stood out to us with his switch skating and smooth lanky style although everyone was killing it that day, it is amazing what can go down on a mini! The cats at 158 are really cool and holding it down for the kids as one of the only core shops still in existence in that area. If you are in the area definitely stop by and get in a session on the mini. Big thanks to Mike / Billy of 158 and to Jesse for the back yard pool session offer(next time for sure!) and all the skaters who came out and had fun with us!
Another NC Park: All I remember of this park is that it had a really nice bowl (although really tight) and a laid out bowl with a Clam Shell / banked hips with a lot of flat bottom other then that it had a small street area that you will see in the video Mike ollieing up the step Euro to crooks on the ledge and a bunch of other things up and down it. It is not far from Kills Devils and you may see some of the VA Beach Fork Crew (bowl rippers) or even a smooth cat like VA based Pro Julian Etheridge who was steezing up the park with lofty airs, smooth slides and grinds.
Mt. Trashmore Virginia Beach VA: This was our last stop and we where all pretty wrecked when we got there but still managed to get in a few good lines. Not much to say really, the bowl is always fun the course has a little of everything and we ran into some cool guys there but that day there was a lot of bikes as well as a lot of younger kids who don't have there awareness yet in a park so it was a little bit eehh but still fun regardless.
Just found this footage from the Under the Bridge premiere at FDR last summer! With it being winter and snowing and all all over the North East and Mid Atlantic regions a little touch of summer chocked full of gnar I think is in order! Our very own Greg Pachell was on hand for this event and you can see him shredding in the beginning and towards the end of this video. PS: He is the one with red hair! :) Enjoy!

Our tour TM and womens rider Shannon Sexton as many of you know is also an accomplished snowboarder and this past weekend placed 4th in the Slop Style event at Big Boulder in the Womens division. If that wasn't enough she is also having a her first art show this Friday in Philadelphia at Astro Vintage, showing her unique visions through the medium of "glitter glue". I know this post is a little late but it has been a busy few weeks here at One Skateboard Co as we did the trade shows again to start off 2010!
Surf Expo: 10 x 20 booth-shared with Formation Skateboard Company
This past Surf Expo was a little slower then in years past but was a good opportunity to talk to old friends and make some new ones! We hope to get into a few more good shops this season and continue to develop our program and what we can offer the the skateboarding public. With that said we are officially working with Formation Skateboards who bring in original art, limited editions and real paint on decks! Needless to say we a stoked to be representing Formation as well as One Skateboards and Performance Tip Skateboards!
Crossroads: San Diego A great turn out and event, really reminded me of trade shows of the past with emphasis on skateboarding and with the sun shinning there was plenty of that throughout the 2 days of shows! I was psyched to see so many East Coast heads out on the West all doing there thing and well! Having the east coast guys out there definitely was a breath of fresh air to what would be a "brodeo" definitely a bit of that vibe going on but it was in check for the most part. Concrete Wave and PSK8 Flew me out to demo and get people psyched on skating (no problem there!) as well as talk to some international groups and gave out about $1,500 worth of product to get people and shops on the new P-Tip Decks to see that they are not a gimmick and that they really work, so far everyone is stoked! A very busy Concrete Wave booth for those 2 days and good times had by all!
Another Expo in the books! Although it seemed a bit slower this year we got work done regardless and every year we have stepped it up, now just following up and hopefully the shops that came on through will step it up as well with some orders! (Fingers crossed!) This year our crew was cut in almost half, Matt Henry went on a "walkabout" and was MIA for months then called right before Expo but couldn't make it, Joey had to take care of some things back in MD, Shannon is currently instructing snowboard camps but we did bring a few new people on tour and had a great time! Greg as you can see got wrecked on the 3rd day we where there and ended up in a wheelchair no worries just a sprained foot, but did get some great footage! Brian brought his good buddy Tore who was great having on tour are he helped build the booth/wheeled Greg around, threw down some killer lines and of course got in some great shenanigans. Brian threw down as we know he could both in skating and filming! JJ O Donnell was MIA for awhile busy with work but as you can see he still got it as well as destroyed all of us in the game of pool! He has been playing the pool circuit again so if he asks you to play just say no! Lorenzo Errico and Ben Butler from Formation joined us this year as we have partnered up and working together, stepping it up in a 10x20! They where great to have in the booth and the fact Lorenzo is from Italy came in handy as we are meeting with an Italian distributor due to the show! All in all a great time with a bunch of great guys skating, can't ask for more!
We hope everyone has had a safe and happy holiday season! 2009 was a great learning experience and many things changed in skateboarding this year.
One Skateboard Co. had to ebb and flow with the changes as well and we are getting ready for a great 2010!
